I recognize the couple beneath the drawing. It’s Sarah and Yekl Shapiro. A wonderful couple. Years ago, she posed for many artists. He was known to sit for days on end in meditation. Heartland Klezmorim played at their wedding.
I hear the marriage bed was covered with rose petals and chicks of halavah…
And the pillows were actually large bialys.
