I’m pretty sure this was a staged photograph but I like the idea of working outside on a beautiful day.
I occasionally prep and finish dulcimers on the front porch when the weather is cooperative.

Don’t you worry about dust getting into the finish?

No problem with dust. If I finish outside I only apply the first coat or two and they get rubbed out with steel wool in between. The final coats get done in the shop, though sometimes the porch is less dusty than the shop!
they are kinda scrunched together working. I work inside, but sometimes sit outside and watch the cars drive by, and talk to people who look in the front door.

Its a free feeling to talk to people without worring about time.
