Handy Shop Tips
Jan 19th, 2010 by Doug Berch
Some odds and ends I’ve gathered from here and there.
Some of these ideas make sense. Some make some sense. Some I’m just not sure about.
- Does a pestle serve as a doorknob in emergency?
- Glue Spread With Fine Comb
- Handy Tin-Can Glue Pot
- Nail Hammers – Two Styles
- New Uses For Empty Spools
- Removing Water From Alcohol
- Sawhorse with roller for ripping long boards on the table saw
- Sharpening A Wood Chisel

Great post, Doug, and a great way to present it. I’m going to try the hide glue in the alcohol trick.
Cheers — Larry
Thanks Larry. The hide glue in alcohol trick is the one that appealed to me the most too. I’ll have to give it a try next time I’m mixing up shellac.
